The South East Apprenticeship Company (SEAC) is an innovative service for employers and apprentices and is one of the ten Apprenticeship Training Agencies (ATAs) throughout England. SEAC operates across the South East and aims to create 1,600 apprenticeships in the region by 2013, benefiting businesses and young people, aged 16 - 24, alike.
The launch of SEAC and other ATAs (Apprenticeship Training Agencies) follows a Government pledge to increase skills and qualifications across the national workforce, particularly among school-leavers. In its first year, 60 per cent of SEAC's new Apprenticeships will be aimed at 16-18 year olds. The Apprenticeships will also be geared towards key sectors in the South East - from retailing to the built environment, manufacturing and engineering - and businesses of all sizes - from start-up companies to multinationals.
