The Facilities Team at this Grammar School for Girls in Tonbridge, Kent forms part of the broader support function within the School. Its purpose is to provide a professional, efficient and cost effective facilities management service, which underpins and supports student learning and wellbeing and seeks to provide a safe environment which is conducive to learning. There is a wide range of duties including; responsible for general security at all times, keep paths and drives clean, oversee the efficient working of heating plant and lighting, assist with Customer Services (including reasonable practical help, e.g. deliveries, moving items, cutting locks, simple fix-its, blocked toilets, etc.) and undertake and manage repairs and maintenance.
An Intermediate Apprenticeship in Facilities Services will provide learners with skills to progress within Facilities service roles. Areas covered include providing a quality and cost effective maintenance and care service for a wide range of commercial and public buildings, property and estate management and environmental protection. There are a wide variety of job roles that are complemented by this type of apprentices. If you have good communication skills, an organised approach, excellent time management, an awareness of health and safety issues and the ability to use your own initiative but also know when to refer to a supervisor then this apprenticeship will help enhance and develop your existing skills.
