SEAC works with a lovely school in Bedford to support them as they provide apprenticeship placements in a variety of roles. Kadeja was recruited by SEAC in November 2019 to become an Apprentice Primary Teaching Assistant.
Kadeja has successfully completed her Intermediate Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, the apprenticeship along with the experience gained working at the school has enhanced her passion for teaching and she will be going off to University in September to train to be a Primary School Teacher.
In her own words Kadeja had the following to say about her experience:
“This apprenticeship has equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to support pupils in a school setting. It has been a great opportunity and I am thankful to everyone who has guided me through it. I really enjoyed the practical experience in schools, being in classrooms and learning about all the methods to teaching there are. It’s made my passion for teaching stronger and I hope to achieve being a great primary teacher through my university experience starting in September. The continuous support from SEAC, my training provider and Host School had made the overall experience appreciable, and I hope like-minded individuals will embark on an apprenticeship that enhances your passion and skills too.”
From the last quarterly review provided by Kadeja’s line manager at the school they had the following to say about her journey with them:
“Kadeja is a very valued and respected member of our team. She has shown excellent initiative and high-quality skills in supporting pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour to make progress in their learning. She gets on well with all staff, is hard working, reliable and committed. It has been a pleasure to have her on the team.”
The whole team at SEAC are incredibly proud of her achievements and wish Kadeja the best of luck as she takes the next step to achieve her career dreams!
