Success and progression of a former SEAC Apprentice #Buildthefuture

Tuesday 9 February, 2021

Over the years SEAC have placed over 1100 apprentices into various types of organisations to complete a wide range of apprenticeship qualifications. Not all have successfully completed, but because most apprentices wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity and support offered we do have a fantastic track record!

Ahead of #NAW2021 we contacted a few of our Host Companies who decided to employ their apprentice after they completed their apprenticeship. One of our lovely Host Companies, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning, agreed to share the journey of their former apprentice:

SEAC recruited Anisa Badshah to be supported by Buckinghamshire Adult Learning at the beginning of November 2017. During her apprenticeship Anisa obtained a Diploma in Business and Administration Level 2 and also completed Functional Skills level 2 in ICT, English and Maths as part of her apprenticeship.

Anisa was employed direct at the end of her apprenticeship as an Adult Learning Assistant, the role includes main Reception duties, responding to learner enquiries by email/telephone/face to face, providing information and advice to learners, enrolling them on courses and marking registers plus calculating complex payments. She assists with the day to day operational running of the Learning Centre.

Anisa was initially very quiet when she first started her apprenticeship and lacked confidence but with encouragement and focussing on her strengths she gained a sense of her capabilities.

The Centre’s main focus is to provide learning opportunities for Adult’s with low level Basic Skills and learners who do not posses English as a first language and also provide courses for people with Learning Disabilities and Difficulties.

Anisa has coped well with the unpredictable demands and complex issues that occur on a day to day basis and has built a good rapport with not just fellow colleagues but with the learners too.

Anisa continues to grow and has now taken on more tasks and responsibilities such as leading a team in the first lockdown and becoming a Prowise champion to assist tutors with ICT issues. She has become a great asset with her natural aptitude for ICT and has continued to take opportunities to develop her knowledge and skills further, currently working towards a Level 2 qualification in Mental Health Awareness.

Well done Anisa – keep up the great work!

The SEAC team love hearing about the successes of our former apprentices and hope that they all go on to achieve their career dreams.
